I grew up as a military dependent, the daughter of a dedicated serviceman, spending my early life living around the world and experiencing many different cultures. Those experiences taught me adaptability, respect, and how to connect with people from all walks of life.

Texas became home when my father retired in 1978. In 1980, I married a local boy, and we embraced the rhythm of farm and ranch life. We raised two sons—one carrying on our family’s value of service, and the other the value of working hard while attending college locally. Our commitment to serving our community continued through my husband's 25-year career with Texas Parks and Wildlife and our volunteer work helping in the community. After his retirement, we deepened our roots and fully settled into the community we cherish.
